Bulk-uploading receipts (Premium)
Bulk upload is the fastest way to catch up on a backlog. Drop in 10, 50, or 100 receipts at once — our AI reads each one and stages them as a grid you can review and save in one shot.
How to bulk upload
- Go to the Expenses page.
- Click Bulk upload (top right).
- Drag and drop multiple receipt files (or click to browse and multi-select).
- Wait for each receipt to parse — you'll see a status badge per file (queued → uploading → parsing → ready).
- Review the extracted data in the grid. Click any field to edit inline.
- When everything looks right, click Save all at the bottom.
All the receipts get inserted as expenses at once. They'll appear in your ledger immediately.
What gets extracted
Our AI pulls:
- Provider name
- Amount
- Date
- Category
- Description
- Patient name (when visible) — used to auto-match to the right family member
If a receipt is unreadable, blurry, or doesn't have enough info, the row will show an error. You can fix it manually in the grid before saving.
Family member matching
If our AI sees a patient name on the receipt and you have a household member with that name, we'll auto-tag the expense to them. You can change this in the grid if it gets the wrong person — it only matches on first name, so it's a hint, not a guarantee.
Premium only
Bulk upload is a Premium feature ($5/mo or $50/yr). On the free plan, the Bulk upload button shows a Premium badge — clicking it takes you to the upgrade page.
Tips for fast bulk uploads
- Photograph receipts in batches. A single multi-page PDF works better than 10 separate photos when the receipt is long.
- Crop tightly. Receipts that fill the frame extract more accurately than receipts in a cluttered photo.
- Don't worry about perfect order. You can sort and edit any row after upload. Just get them all in.
